Chakra Meditation

Chakras are energy centers in our body and play a significant role in our physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means ‘Wheel’. It is pronounced as ‘Cha-kra’ and not ‘Shaa-kra’. Every chakra has its beeja (in Sanskrit) or seed mantra. Being aware and meditating on each chakra not only opens the blockages but also balances and removes the problems related to that chakra.

Commonly known there are seven Chakras which in ascending order starting from the bottom of the spine are Root Chakra, Sacral Chakra, Solar-Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Third-eye Chakra and Crown Chakra.

The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness. But if our mind is not peaceful, we will find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.
